Thalia Awards to be presented tonight at the National Theatre
The annual Thalia Awards ceremony takes place this evening at Prague’s National Theatre, honoring twenty artists for outstanding stage performances. Organized by the Actors’ Association, the 32nd edition will be hosted live on Czech Television by actor Miroslav Hanuš. Lifetime Achievement Awards will go to actors Dana Syslová and Ladislav Frej for drama, soprano Natalia Achaladze Romanová for opera, dancer Alice Kvasnicová for ballet, and tenor Jan Ježek for musical and operetta. In alternative theatre, Lenka Machoninová will be recognized for her lifelong mastery, while scenographer Jan Dušek will receive the award for extraordinary contribution to theatre. Among the nominees are Denisa Barešová, Andrea Elsnerová, and Petr Panzenberger, while actress Tereza Dočkalová could make history by winning her third Thalia Award. A surprise award for a foreign artist will also be announced during the evening.
