Journalist ready to confirm authenticity of racist posts attributed to MP Filip Turek

Journalist Vojtěch Dobeš, once a close friend of the newly-elected MP Filip Turek, has said he is ready to confirm the authenticity of offensive Facebook posts attributed to the honorary president of the Motorists’ party. According to Denik N, which published some of the posts, Dobeš initially wished to remain anonymous but later decided to speak publicly, saying he was prepared to verify the posts’ authenticity to the police.

According to Deník N, Turek repeatedly shared racist, sexist, and homophobic statements, along with references to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. Turek has apologized for some of the posts but denied authorship of others. His party has since filed a criminal complaint for slander.
