Survey: nearly 60 percent of Czech manufacturing firms lack skilled workers

Nearly six in ten manufacturing companies in Czechia report a shortage of qualified employees, according to a new survey by recruitment agency Hofmann Personal. Administrative staff are missing in about one fifth of firms, mostly in the services sector. While 44 percent of companies plan to hire—mainly skilled labor—more than half say they receive too few applications. Hofmann’s director Gabriela Hrbáčková warned that the labor market remains tight and no quick improvement is expected. The survey also showed that 91 percent of companies employ foreigners, most often Ukrainians and Slovaks.
