Railway Administration investigating cause of runaway freight wagon

The Czech Railway Administration is investigating an incident in which a freight wagon broke loose and rolled for about 12 kilometres on the line from Mariánské Lázně to Plzeň on Tuesday before being stopped by a derail device in the town of Planá. The Railway Administration said the point where it became detached remains unclear. No injuries were reported. Service on the line was disrupted for about 40 minutes.
