Ex-MP Wolf returning from Paraguay to serve prison sentence

Former Social Democrat (now SOCDEM) MP Petr Wolf, sentenced in Czechia to six years in prison for subsidy fraud, is returning from Paraguay after years on the run. According to his lawyers, cited by iDNES.cz news site, he is due to land in Prague this evening, where he will be taken into custody. Wolf was convicted in 2012 but failed to report to prison the following year. Police later tracked him down in Paraguay, where he was arrested in 2024 under international cooperation and held in custody pending extradition.
