Fiala highlights Czech support for Ukraine in Copenhagen and in TV debate

At the informal EU summit in Copenhagen, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala underlined the need to strengthen the EU’s eastern border, expand military and financial aid for Ukraine, and deepen defense-industry cooperation. “Russia is testing our readiness – Europe must show unity, strength and determination,” he said, stressing Czechia’s role in sourcing artillery ammunition and backing a drone alliance with Kyiv. Returning to Prague for a televised pre-election debate, Fiala noted that Czechia has provided Ukraine with assistance worth about 25 billion crowns since 2022, while fulfilling NATO commitments of 6.5 billion crowns annually.
