Senate to award silver medals on Czech Statehood Day

Prominent figures who have excelled in their field or enhanced the Czech Republic’s reputation abroad will be honored in the Senate on Sunday. On the occasion of Czech Statehood Day, Senate President Miloš Vystrčil (Spolu) will present fifteen silver commemorative medals to outstanding personalities from different walks of life.

This year’s laureates include scientists, artists, athletes, and other public figures. In previous years, institutions have also received the honor. The tradition of awarding medals on St. Wenceslas Day began in 2012.
