Czech Republic donates glass installation to UN

Czech President Petr Pavel unveiled a gift to the United Nations at its New York headquarters on Monday—a glass installation titled Herbarium by the renowned Czech glassmaker Lasvit.

The Czech Republic is among roughly 130 nations that have contributed official gifts to the UN in its 80-year history. The Herbarium will be permanently displayed at the entrance to the General Assembly building.

“May the Herbarium inspire all who enter the United Nations to cherish the beauty of our planet and reaffirm their commitment to protect it. May this gift serve as a beacon of hope, unity, and peace,” President Pavel said at the unveiling.
