Czech Gripens and Red Arrows to fly over Charles Bridge
A spectacular flypast is planned above Prague’s Charles Bridge at 3pm on Thursday, featuring two Czech JAS-39 Gripen fighter jets and ten British BAE Hawk T1 aircraft from the Royal Air Force’s Red Arrows aerobatic team. The formation will approach the capital from the north, regroup into an arrow shape over Václav Havel Airport, and test smoke effects before circling the western edge of the city. From there, it will follow the Vltava River south to north, crossing the bridge in full display with coloured smoke. The aircraft will then head towards Kbely and continue to Ostrava’s Leoš Janáček Airport for the NATO and Czech Air Force Days. The schedule may change depending on weather and airspace conditions.
