Czech power networks to be boasted by 80 billion CZK investment
State-owned grid operator ČEPS plans to invest more than CZK 80 billion in Czech power networks over the next ten years, up from around CZK 60 billion in the past decade. The program focuses on duplicating existing lines, building new substations, and modernizing aging infrastructure to meet rising demand, the shift from coal, and the growth of renewables and electric mobility. Key projects include strengthening Prague’s supply and expanding connections with Slovakia. ČEPS warns that lengthy permitting procedures remain a major obstacle, as construction itself usually takes only one to two years.
