Czech economy expands 2.6% in Q2, outpacing earlier estimate

The Czech economy grew by 2.6 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2025 and by 0.5 percent compared with the previous three months, the Czech Statistics Office (ČSÚ) reported on Friday. The figures are stronger than the Office’s preliminary estimate released at the end of July, which had put GDP growth at 2.4 percent year-on-year and 0.2 percent quarter on quarter.

According to the Office, annual GDP growth was driven by higher household consumption and changes in inventories, while fixed capital investment and a lower foreign trade surplus weighed on the result.
