President Pavel and PM Fiala to discuss Middle East tensions and Bitcoin scandal

President Petr Pavel and Prime Minister Petr Fiala (SPOLU) are meeting today at Prague Castle to discuss Czech policy on the Middle East and the government’s handling of the bitcoin scandal that forced then justice minister Pavel Blažek to resign.

Pavel recently stressed that while Czechia remains a firm supporter of Israel, it should not shy away from raising sensitive issues. In a call with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, he warned that certain policies could harm Israel’s international standing.
