Czechs bet CZK 510 billion on gambling in first half of 2025

Czechs placed CZK 510.6 billion in bets on gambling in the first half of 2025, up 9.5% from the same period last year, according to data from the Financial Administration. Pay-outs also rose, increasing 9.7% to CZK 477.5 billion. Gambling operators paid CZK 10.8 billion in taxes over the six months.

Technical games, including slot machines, dominate the market. Players placed CZK 402.3 billion in bets on these games, accounting for nearly 79% of all gambling stakes, up 9.5% year-on-year. Pay-outs for technical games reached CZK 384.3 billion, a 9.6% increase compared to last year.
