Billion-crown digitalization project under fire as ministries warn of ‘collapse’
Czech Radio reports that long-delayed eSbírka and eLegislativa project, designed to digitalize the collection of laws and the legislative process, is facing sharp criticism from ministries and offices. The Interior Ministry is requesting an additional CZK 453 million for what it calls system “development,” but other ministries argue the money would go to basic fixes needed to make the platform usable. Some warn the flawed system could paralyze lawmaking from January 2026, when it is due to become fully operational. The project has already cost nearly CZK 1 billion over 12 years and was branded a failure by the Supreme Audit Office earlier this year.
