PM Fiala joins Coalition of the Willing video conference on Ukraine
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala (SPOLU) joined in a video conference of leaders of the Coalition of the Willing, on Sunday afternoon. The meeting aimed to coordinate the EU’s position ahead of Monday’s meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to which EU leaders have also been invited. "We agreed that the immediate priority must be to bring an end to the killing, and that clear security guarantees for Ukraine from the United States and Europe will be absolutely essential for further negotiations," Mr. Fiala wrote on X.
Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský on Saturday spoke over the phone with the foreign ministers of the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Poland, and Finland to discuss the outcome of the Alaska talks. He also expressed full support for Ukraine in a call with his Ukrainian counterpart ahead of negotiations with the U.S.
