Government watchdog reports highest number of cyber incidents this year in July

The Czech National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB) recorded 23 cyber incidents in July — the highest monthly figure so far in 2025. The increase followed two months of below-average numbers, with 12 incidents in June and 11 in May. According to NÚKIB, the spike was mainly due to an above-average number of operational outages, as well as several ransomware attacks and breaches exploiting vulnerabilities in Microsoft SharePoint. Of the July cases, 20 were classed as minor, two as significant, and one as highly significant. Two incidents were caused by power outages rather than cyberattacks. Last year, NÚKIB registered 268 cyber incidents in total, with the record month being October at 47 cases — the highest monthly figure since monitoring began.
