Man accidentally shot by hunter in west Bohemia

A man searching for rare metals with a metal detector after dark was shot by a hunter in a forest near Ctiboř in the Tachov region of western Bohemia. The 44-year-old suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. The police have launched a criminal investigation, suspecting the hunter of causing bodily harm through negligence, according to the Czech News Agency. Police confirmed that a breathalyzer and a preliminary drug test yielded negative results. The hunter’s firearm has been secured as part of the ongoing investigation.
