Litvinov refinery returns to full capacity after July blackout

Orlen Unipetrol’s refinery in Litvinov, North Bohemia, has resumed standard operations following a nationwide power outage on July 4. The company restarted its ethylene unit over the weekend, restoring full production capacity, spokesman Pavel Kaidl confirmed. Although the outage temporarily halted operations, fuel supplies to the Czech market remained uninterrupted. The company has yet to assess the financial impact. Orlen Unipetrol’s second refinery in Kralupy nad Vltavou was not affected. The group is the country’s largest refining and petrochemical firm.
