Police use AI to hunt for murderer of woman in Šternberk in 2005

Detectives in Olomouc have used AI to create a probable image of the murderer of a video-rental employee in 2005. From the original facial composite, they have created a probable image of the perpetrator after twenty years of natural aging. Thirteen days remain before the case will be over twenty years old and will be statute-barred, according to the old criminal code.

The police are appealing to the public for help. The case was opened about ten years ago by specialists from the Tempus team, which investigates unsolved cases of serious violent crimes from the past. The 31-year-old woman was murdered on July 29th 2005 in a video rental shop on the main square in Šternberk. The woman had several stab wounds to her body.
