President Pavel to host outgoing Polish president Duda at Prague Castle

Czech President Petr Pavel is scheduled to meet Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda at Prague Castle on Monday. The visit comes shortly before Duda’s term ends in early August, when he will be replaced by conservative Karol Nawrocki. The two presidents will hold bilateral talks followed by a meeting with their delegations and a joint press conference. They last met at the recent NATO summit in The Hague. After Nawrocki’s election victory over liberal candidate Rafał Trzaskowski, Pavel expressed hope that Poland would remain on a democratic and pro-Western path and continue close cooperation with Czechia.
