Escaped puma captured in Sokolov region

Police, firefighters and veterinarians successfully located and captured a puma that escaped from its enclosure near Josefov in the Sokolov region on Wednesday. According to a police spokeswoman, around twenty police officers assisted in the capture, including the foreigner police unit, which deployed a special vehicle equipped with thermal imaging. She said that although the puma was legally purchased and is registered, the animal’s owner reportedly lacks a permit to keep it. However, since the puma is chipped and its living conditions are reportedly good, the authorities will not remove it from his care, she said.
