Chamber approves pension cuts for other Communist regime officials
The retirement pensions of other officials from the former Communist regime will likely be reduced starting in November 2026. High-ranking officials of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and Slovakia (KSČ and KSS), senior members of the Communist apparatus, and selected chiefs of national and state security, border guards, and the People’s Militia will receive 300 crowns less for each year in office. This is outlined in the pension amendment, which was approved on Tuesday by the Chamber of Deputies in an accelerated initial reading. Deputies will reconvene on Wednesday.
