Smartwings unions declare strike alert over poor work conditions

Four Smartwings airline unions have declared a strike alert over poor management. They accuse the airline mainly of a long-term shortage of pilots which leads to overwork, as well as random changes in flight planning, non-compliance with rules and lack of communication. They are demanding immediate changes in management and want to evaluate the situation after ten days in view of possible strike action. Smartwings is the largest domestic air carrier used by travel agencies.
