Parliament to debate bitcoin scandal and vote on suppressor ban
Czech MPs are set for a heated week, with a special session on the bitcoin donation scandal that led to Justice Minister Pavel Blažek's (Civic Democratic Party) resignation. The cryptocurrency, worth nearly a billion crowns, was donated by a man convicted of embezzlement and drug trafficking. Police are investigating, and the opposition ANO and SPD parties are demanding the government's resignation. MPs will also vote on a Senate-backed bill banning recreational shooters from purchasing suppressors for handguns. Other agenda items include support for young farmers, changes to medical emergency services, and compensation for victims of communist-era persecution.
