Fico accuses Zdechovský of being a “hired political assassin”, Czech MEP rejects claim

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has lashed out at Czech MEP Tomáš Zdechovský, calling him a "weirdo" and a "hired political assassin" allegedly working for the Slovak opposition. Zdechovský led a recent EU mission to Slovakia investigating the use of EU funds and raised concerns about possible misuse. In response, he firmly rejected Fico’s accusations, calling them “disgusting lies” meant to discredit the mission. Other Slovak officials also criticized the visit, describing it as a “punitive expedition from Brussels.” Fico refused to meet the EU delegation and denied any wrongdoing related to past tourism subsidies.
