Emil Filla's Head of a Man with a Pipe sold for 25 million crowns

Emil Filla's painting Head of a Man with a Pipe from 1915 sold at the European Arts Investments' hall auction in Prague's Lucerna Palace for CZK 25.048 million including the auction commission. It became the third most expensive painting by Filla sold at auction in the Czech Republic. The auction collection included a total of 113 works of Czech and European art. Collectors spent more than 107 million crowns and 78 percent of the items offered were successfully auctioned off. The 20 million mark was also surpassed by a still life with lemons by Bohumil Kubišta from 1909, for which the new owner paid CZK 28,272,000.
