Czech doctors save Irish runner who suffered heart arrest during Prague marathon

Czech doctors miraculously managed to save an Irish runner who suffered a heart failure during the Prague marathon, and whose heart stopped beating for 47 minutes, Novinky.cz reported. The 55-year-old runner arrived in Prague from Ireland to run his 21st career marathon, but only ran a few hundred meters before suffering a heart arrest. Luckily, it happened right in front of paramedics who resuscitated him for 25 minutes during the transport to the General University Hospital where doctors saved his life using extracorporeal resuscitation, a method using extracorporeal circulation.
