Hundreds of students set off in procession of floats for Brno Majáles
Hundreds of students in Brno set off on Saturday morning from Freedom Square (Náměstí Svobody) to the Exhibition Centre, accompanying allegorical floats with musical bands, as part of the twentieth year of the Majáles student festival. This year, the organisers have prepared the most packed programme yet, with forty performers for the anniversary year, as announced on the website.
The morning parade with floats passed through central streets and squares of Brno, and presented the candidates for the king and queen of the Majáles from five universities. The afternoon programme features stalwarts of the Czech music scene, such as Kryštof and Chinaski.
