The Majáles festival is back!
After a two-year Covid break, students could once again hold their traditional open-air spring festival Majales this weekend.
The tradition of Majales festivals dates back to the 15th century. It involves a parade with costumes and allegorical vehicles, music and dancing. Each year students choose their Majales king and queen (King and Queen of May). In 1964 the American poet Allen Ginsberg famously became the king of Majáles.
