Over 10,000 runners take part in Prague Marathon

More than 10,000 runners are taking part in this year’s Prague Marathon, which starts in the morning from Old Town Square. Among the top contenders for victory and a possible course record are last year’s winner Lemi Berhanu Hayle, along with fellow Ethiopians Gadisa Birhanu and Abdualem Belay. The fastest women include Kenyans Gladys Chesiro and Evaline Chirchir. Olympian Tereza Hrochová is running her first Prague Marathon, just weeks after placing ninth at the European Road Championships. Road closures and public transport changes are in effect, with police urging drivers to avoid the city centre.
