Menšík advances to round of 16 in Madrid after straight-sets win

Czech tennis player Jakub Menšík is through to the fourth round at the Madrid Masters after beating American Ben Shelton 6–1, 6–4.

Menšík dominated the first set, breaking the 12th seed three times to take it in just 29 minutes. In the second, a single break at 5–4 was enough to seal the win. It’s his second victory over Shelton this year.

Next, the 19-year-old Czech will face Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik, who knocked out defending champion Andrey Rublev.
