Defence Minister: Czech initiative delivers 400,000 rounds of ammunition to Ukraine by April

Czechia had delivered another 400,000 rounds of large-callibre ammunition to Ukraine by the end of April through its international initiative, Defence Minister Jana Černochová announced in Czech Television’s debate programme on Sunday. She also mentioned that in 2024, Czechia facilitated the supply of around 1.5 million rounds of artillery ammunition to Ukraine.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský said earlier this month that financial support for the initiative has been secured from Canada, Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands, with Belgium also joining the effort. He also said the initiative has helped reduce Russia’s artillery advantage, improving the artillery ratio from 1:10 to 1:2. Czechia aims to continue supplying 125,000 shells to Ukraine each month for the rest of this year.
