Over 2,500 stores join national food drive

A national food drive is taking place this Saturday in stores across the country. The donations will go to people in need — including seniors living alone, families in crisis, people with disabilities, and those without homes.

The Czech Federation of Food Banks says the biggest need is for basic food items and hygiene products.

More than 2,500 stores are taking part this year, which is more than last spring, when about 2,100 stores joined.

People can also help by donating through selected online shops until Tuesday, May 6th, according to the food drive’s official website.
