Clean-up operation underway in South Moravian villages following flash floods

A clean-up operation is underway in a number of villages in South Moravia, which were hit by flash floods on Thursday evening.  In some places, water flooded dozens of houses. After Thursday's torrential rains, firefighters intervened in Veselí nad Moravou and several other municipalities in the Hodonín region, but also in Rájec-Jestřebí in Blansko. Fire crews have been pumping water from cellars and gardens and volunteers are helping to clean roads and pavements from mud deposits.
