Three Red River Hog piglets born at Prague Zoo

Visitors to the Prague Zoo can now see three newly-born Red River Hog piglets. The piglets, born early Wednesday morning, are on display in the Dja Reserve Pavilion. It is the first time that Red River Hog piglets have been born at the zoo.

The piglets were born to Jasna, an eight-year-old female, and Štěpán, a three-year-old male. The birth went smoothly, and the piglets are active and nursing. The mother is taking good care of them, and visitors can see the whole family in the exhibit. The sex of the piglets is not yet known.

The Prague Zoostarted the breeding program in 2022, with the female arriving last summer.
