ANO still well ahead of party rivals in April poll, SPD overtakes Mayors
The opposition ANO party, led by Andrej Babiš, would currently win general elections to the Chamber of Deputies, securing 33 percent of the vote, according to the results of a STEM poll for CNN Prima News, published on Sunday. The SPOLU (Together) coalition made up of the ruling the Civic Democrats, Christian Democrats and TOP 09, would come second with 19.8 percent. The anti-EU Freedom and Direct Democracy Party (SPD) of Tomio Okamura would place third with 11.1 percent, overtaking the ruling Mayors and Independents who would get 10.8 percent of the vote. The only other parties likely to cross the 5 percent threshold needed to win seats in the lower house would be the Pirate Party with 6.5 percent support and the Motorists with 5.0 percent.
