State monuments offered special programs on Good Friday

Czech state-run castles, monasteries, and chateaus prepared special events to mark Good Friday, coinciding this year with the International Day for Monuments and Sites. According to Blanka Černá, spokesperson for the National Heritage Institute, visitors could enjoy extended guided tours, artistic competitions, and themed treasure hunts. Highlights included exclusive access to medieval cellars at Hradec nad Moravicí, viewing a rare woodcarving at Bezděz Castle’s royal chapel, and special tours of Grabštejn Castle’s Passion-themed Chapel of Saint Barbara. Cultural heritage increasingly contributes to Czech tourism, accounting for approximately 17% of tourists' expenditures nationwide.
