Population of Czechia increased to 10.91 million, with fewest children born
The population of Czechia rose by approximately 8,900, reaching a total of 10.91 million last year, the highest figure since the end of the Second World War, as reported on Thursday by the Czech Statistical Office (CSO).
This increase was entirely due to foreign migration, as the number of births continued to decline. A total of 84,311 children were born, marking the lowest number on record, according to the statistics. The CSO has been tracking population data since 1785.
