HN: CzechInvest secured nearly CZK 60 billion in investments in 2024
Companies committed to investing almost CZK 60 billion in Czechia last year, the highest figure in seven years, Hospodářské noviny (HN) daily reported. The state agency CzechInvest facilitated 28 investment projects, up from 10 projects worth CZK 19 billion in 2022. The largest share of last year’s investment comes from U.S.-based onsemi, which plans to expand chip production in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm with a CZK 46 billion investment. CzechInvest’s director Jan Michal told HN that the rise reflects economic recovery across Europe. Other notable projects include investments by Taiwan’s CTi Cable and Panasonic’s tech center. Most projects involved expansion by existing companies, while eight came from new foreign investors.
