Kellner Foundation halts CZK 500 million donation amid Motol corruption scandal
The Kellner Family Foundation, one of the biggest Czech private charities, has suspended a CZK 500 million donation for the planned oncology center at Prague’s Motol University Hospital, the largest Czech medical institution, due to an ongoing public procurement scandal. The hospital’s former director, Miloslav Ludvik, is in custody amid a corruption probe involving bribery, subsidy fraud, and money laundering. The foundation remains open to resuming its support once the situation is clarified. It is coordinating with the Ministry of Health, which has acknowledged and understands the decision, said foundation spokesman Michal Kriz.
