Prague hospital director detained amid construction contract probe

Police from the National Central Office Against Organized Crime (NCOZ) have detained Miloslav Ludvik, director of Motol Teaching Hospital, in connection with an investigation into the hospital’s contracts with the Geosan Group construction company, Denik.cz reported. The case, linked to the reconstruction of Motol’s "Blue Pavilion," is being overseen by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO). Authorities have confirmed an ongoing criminal probe but have not provided further details. Motol is the largest hospital in the Czech Republic, treating over a million patients annually. Ludvik has led the institution since 2000, apart from a brief tenure as health minister.
