Pavel and Fiala honor memory of Jan Palach

According to President Petr Pavel and Prime Minister Petr Fiala, the legacy of Jan Palach, who set himself on fire 56 years ago in protest against people's resignation to the course of society following the 1968 Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia, remains relevant. Along with Fiala, the speakers of both chambers of Parliament and other politicians gathered to honor Palach's memory at the site marked by a wooden cross on the sidewalk beneath the National Museum.
