Czech Press Photo winners announced

AP photographer Petr David Josek won the top prize at the Czech Press Photo 2024 competition for his image of an athlete running hurdles at the Paris Summer Olympics. Captured from a unique perspective on the finishing straight, the photo is part of Josek’s Olympics sports series.

The 30th edition of the competition saw a record 256 authors submitting over 4,500 entries. CTK agency photographers Roman Vondrouš and Ondřej Deml also earned recognition, winning in the Arts and Culture and People to Talk About categories, respectively.

The winners were announced at the National Museum in Prague, where the Czech Press Photo exhibition opened on Friday and will run until April 23.
