Czechs celebrate Christmas Day

Today, Christians across Czechia celebrate Christmas Day, the most significant day of the holiday season, marking the birth of Jesus Christ. Churches hold nativity scenes and Christmas plays, blending carols with reenactments of the nativity story. In Prague, the Sant'Egidio community hosts a festive lunch for about 200 homeless and marginalized individuals at the Archbishop's Palace, led by Archbishop Jan Graubner. Brno’s cathedral offers a special holiday program, inviting locals to reflect on the spiritual meaning of Christmas. Meanwhile, the Rajhrad Monastery near Brno draws visitors with a live nativity scene, recreating the biblical setting of Christ’s birth, a tradition cherished by families and community members alike.
