Photographer Ibra Ibrahimovic dies at 57
Photographer Ibra Ibrahimovic, known for documenting life in North Bohemia, died on Saturday at 57 after a long illness, his family announced on social media.
Ibrahimovic rose to prominence in the 1990s with a series on the demolition of Libkovice village for coal mining and the story of farmer Jan Rajter, which earned him the Czech Press Photo award 21 years ago.
Born in 1967 in Most, he began his professional photography career in 1991. His first exhibition in 1993 featured striking black-and-white images of Libkovice’s destruction and the residents' efforts to save it.
