Foreign Minister Lipavský: Europe faces alarming rise in hybrid threats from Russia
Europe is facing an alarming rise in hybrid threats, with up to 100 incidents this year linked to Russia, according to Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský. Speaking in Brussels ahead of a NATO ministerial meeting on Wednesday, Mr. Lipavský pointed to espionage, influence operations, and other forms of hybrid attacks as key concerns.
According to the Czech head of diplomacy, NATO must send a clear signal to Moscow that it will not tolerate this. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed that today’s discussions will focus on such threats, including sabotage and cyberattacks, as the alliance seeks to bolster its defenses against Russian aggression.
