Czech hockey team defeats Switzerland in Karjala Cup, secures at least second place

The Czech hockey team triumphed over Switzerland 5-2 in their final Karjala Cup game in Helsinki, keeping alive their hopes of defending last year’s Euro Hockey Tour title. To secure first place, they now rely on Sweden defeating Finland in regular time. The Czechs dominated from the start, taking a 3-1 lead in the first period with goals from Jáchym Kondelík, Radan Lenc, and Radim Zohorna. Michal Kunc and Martin Kaut added goals later, both scoring for the first time in national team colors. Goalie Ondřej Kacetl secured the win with a strong performance, keeping the Swiss at bay in the final period.
