Justice minister to order revision of communist-rigged trial

Czech Justice Minister Pavel Blažek will order the reopening of a 1988 communist-rigged trial known as the Olšanské hřbitov case, in which Judge Robert Fremr unjustly convicted several people, among them Alexander Eret and his mother. They were found guilty of vandalism and promoting fascism for allegedly damaging the graves of Russian and Bulgarian soldiers at a Prague cemetery. Eret has appealed to the minister for the case to be reviewed and the verdicts invalidated. Senator Hana Marvanová has sent a similar appeal on behalf of the family.
