President Pavel opens European Values Summit in Prague
President Petr Pavel called for the democratic world to present a united front towards Ukraine in his opening speech at the European Values Summit, which got underway in Prague on Wednesday morning. He also appealed for the preservation of the democratic government in Taiwan, which is under pressure from China, stressing that cooperation is the only way to preserve democratic values.
Among the participants at the summit was Taiwanese Foreign Minister Joseph Wu, who is currently on a visit to Czechia and who also delivered a speech focussing on the two countries' shared values and their close partnership. The 9th edition of the summit is hosted by the Czech think-tank European Values Security Centre.
