Czech culture sector lost over CZK 3.7 billion during pandemic
The Czech culture sector's profits were more than CZK 3.7 billion lower during the coronavirus pandemic years of 2020 and 2021 as compared to 2019, the Czech Statistical Office announced on its website on Friday. Visitor numbers fell by more than half in 2021 compared to 2019.
The government's anti-covid measures included the closure of theatres, cinemas, museums, galleries, and other cultural facilities.
